喜鵲迷甩難，結束12年抗戰！曼城班主親戚宣布收購紐卡素｜體嘢報道
甩難了！紐卡素經歷孤寒班主艾殊利（Mike Ashley）的12年統治，終於迎來曙光。來自阿聯酋的賓薩耶（Bin Zayed）集團，宣布與艾殊利達成收購紐卡素的協議。英國各大媒體消息指，賓薩耶集團作價為3.5億英鎊。
紐卡素官方沒有否認賣盤，卻確認與賓薩耶集團進行正式談判。以下是紐卡素的地方報章記者Mark Douglas從賓薩耶集團獲取的聲明：

除了賓薩耶集團發表的聲明之外，在阿聯酋當地的權威記者Hamed Al Harthi也證實了有關消息。據Skysports駐紐卡素的記者Pete Graves
指，Hamed Al Harthi與賓薩耶集團的老板、阿聯酋酋長哈立德．艾尼夏恩（Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed Al Nehayan，下文簡稱哈立德）關係密切，相信消息真確無誤。

在2017年，《Daily Mail》（《每日郵報》）曾報稱哈立德打算以20億英鎊報價求購利物浦被拒，有關報價已刷新世界職業足球隊的紀錄。
自2017年起，艾殊利已宣布打算把球會賣盤，並聽取各方報價。代表私募基金的PCP Capital Partners的英國商人史達維莉（Amanda Staveley）、由前車路士及曼聯總裁簡容（Peter Kenyon）牽頭組成的財團，均先後與艾殊利談判，最終因為未能滿足其報價而失敗收場。
