車路士名宿、「魔獸」杜奧巴正式宣布掛靴。這位40歲的科特迪瓦射手在個人Instagram貼出他在1989年青年軍時代的照片，向一路上支持他的隊友、教練及fans表示謝意。
1998年，杜奧巴在法國球會勒芒（Le Mans FC）開展職業生涯，及後轉戰甘岡及馬賽，直至2004年加盟車路士開始成名。在效力車路士期間（2004至2012年，2014/15球季），他為車路士拿下四次英超冠軍、一次歐聯冠軍、四次足總盃冠軍以及三次聯賽盃冠軍，是對車路士崛起歷史至關重要的功臣。2012年協助球會取得史上首座歐聯錦標後，他先後為上海申花及加拉塔沙雷效力，直至14/15球季第二度為球會效力。在職業生涯後期，他曾經為蒙特利爾衝擊及鳳凰城展翅效力。以下是他發表的退役宣言：

1989 or where it all started!! When I think of the last 20 years of my professional career, looking at this picture can’t make me more proud of what I’ve achieved as a player but most importantly how this journey as shaped me as a man. 杜奧巴在20歲才開始投身職業球員生涯。他曾經透露，因為小時候讀書不佳，所以父親希望他先專注學業，及後他以良好的成績和品行勸服父親讓他重投足球的懷抱。「1989年是一切開始的時刻（投身青年軍的年份）！當我憶起自己過去20年的職業生涯，看著這張照片，我無法不為自己的成就感到自豪。但最重要的是，這段旅程把我塑造成為一個男人。如果有人對你說，你的夢想太不切實際，就說聲謝謝，更努力、更聰明地去把夢想變成現實。我要感謝一路上遇到的球員、教練、球隊和球迷，他們讓我的旅程變得獨一無二！同時我也要向我的家人致以感謝和愛，還有我的個人團隊，感謝你們在職業生涯的起起伏伏中一直給予我支持。我期待著人生的下一篇章，希望上帝保佑我，就像他曾為我的足球事業所做的那樣。」
